Michael Beale has ‘big problem’ at Rangers after confirmed news – Hutton
Alan Hutton has insisted Michael Beale has some “big problems” to solve at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Beale will be under massive pressure to hit the ground running right away.
On 28 November, the club confirmed that the 42-year-old has been appointed as the 18th manager of the Glasgow giants.
The former QPR boss takes over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst after the Dutchman was sacked last week (21 November).
Beale returns to Ibrox after his spell as assistant under Steven Gerrard where he helped the club win the Scottish Premiership title for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
The new Rangers boss has a lacklustre managerial record, with just nine wins in 22 games with QPR this season.
When asked what Beale’s biggest problem will be, Hutton told Football Insider: “The pressure that he is going to be under from minute one to hit the ground running.
“They are nine points behind Celtic, confidence in the club is quite low. He needs to instantly turn that round and give them an identity and plan moving forward.
“Under the previous manager they lost their way. When you were watching them it seemed like they were looking for a little bit of brilliance to win the game.

“There is a lot of things he is going to have to turn round and very quickly.
“There is some big problems that he has to find a solution to right away.“
