Michael Beale to ‘build something special’ at Rangers after confirmed transfer news

Alan Hutton has insisted Michael Beale is building “something special” at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Beale is under “enormous pressure” ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

As quoted by the Scotsman (19 April), the Light Blues boss said he would love to have the bulk of his summer recruitment done by the time the Champions League qualifiers roll around at the start of August.

Beale claimed that he inherited the club from former manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst “in the middle of a storm” and is keen to add his own stamp on the squad.

When asked if the Gers will be able to be competitive in the Champions League qualifiers if they don’t manage to get the bulk of their business done beforehand, Hutton told Football Insider:I think they are at a level where there consistency is much better in terms of the league, outwith Celtic.

That is the bit they have to improve, that is the gap that has to be closed.

You speak about the first half of the season, all the games in there, you need your squad to be really strong and firing on all cylinders. That is why it is a big transfer window for him.

But he has to split himself in two. He has to do all this work and get his team through a pre-season that is going to be difficult.

He will be under and enormous amount of pressure but he seems like the kind of guy who likes that pressure on him to go and build something special.

In other news, Rangers open preliminary talks – first summer signing close.
