Former England striker Michael Owen has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah after he completed his Liverpool move this summer.
The 25-year-old attacker became the Reds’ first signing of the summer when he penned a five-year deal earlier this summer.
The Egyptian international and former Chelsea star arrived on Merseyside from Serie A giants Roma where he impressed in the 2016-17 campaign.
Salah then netted in his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt as he scored the equaliser in the side’s 1-1 friendly draw with Wigan earlier this month.
Former Liverpool and England front man Owen spoke glowingly of the 25-year-old in an interview with the Mirror.
“I think Salah is a really good signing. Liverpool are now looking like a team with a real potent attack,” he said.
“He had a good time at Roma, he’s got outstanding pace and if you’re an attacking player with loads of pace then you’re valuable.”
Salah was one of Roma’s most consistent performers last term, scoring 19 goals in 41 league and cup games, as well as providing 15 assists.
He joined the Italian giants last summer after spending the 2015-16 season on loan at the club, and in total he made 83 appearances across all competitions for them, which yielded 34 goals and 24 assists.
The 25-year-old has also been capped by Egypt on 53 occasions, and he has netted an impressive 29 international goals.
He featured in all six of his nation’s matches in the 2017 African Cup of Nations, which saw them lose out to Cameroon in the final.
In other Liverpool news, the club have agreed a deal for this 20-year-old.
