Michael Owen predicts West Ham v Newcastle
Michael Owen has predicted West Ham to just “edge” the game against Newcastle United on Saturday, ensuring Magpies fans have a “miserable Christmas.”
In his predictions for BetVictor, the pundit believed based on the fact the Hammers have kept clean sheets in their last three Premier League matches, they will have enough to defeat Newcastle United.
“West Ham have kept clean sheets in their last three PL games and I think they can make it a miserable Christmas for the Toon Army, given the Magpies go in to the game having lost their last four,” revealed Owen.
Owen admits that the Hammers will miss Manuel Lanzini who is serving the second game of his ban for diving.
Newcastle United have lost eight of their last nine league games, and find themselves in the relegation zone.
The Magpies are one point adrift of safety, and if Owen’s prediction is right, could find themselves bottom of the league if other results go against them this weekend.
The game against the Hammers is the start of an important run of matches for Newcastle United, as they’re set to face Stoke City and Brighton in the coming weeks – teams that are also at the wrong end of the table.
Newcastle also have to play Manchester City before the end of the year, with the current league leaders yet to taste defeat.
In other Newcastle United news, the Magpies have been handed a huge boost ahead of the January transfer window opening.
