Hazard: This is what Tottenham must do to beat Liverpool
By Will Butcher
Micky Hazard believes Tottenham must break Liverpool’s confidence if they are to earn three points at Anfield on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino takes his side to Merseyside as the two Premier League high flyers go head to head in a match that could have significance at the top of the table, come May.
Former Spurs star Hazard urged Spurs to put Liverpool “on the back foot” and “get at them early” on his personal Twitter account.
Liverpool come into the game in dismal form having won just one match in all competitions in 2017, that being a narrow 1-0 win over League Two minnows Plymouth Argyle.
On the contrary, Spurs have won nine of their last 11 league and cup outings including triumphs against the likes of Chelsea, Southampton and West Brom.
The last time the two sides met, the Reds earned a point at White Hart Lane but would have been disappointed not to win the game after Danny Rose scored in the last 20 minutes to earn a 1-1 draw.
A 15th Premier League win of the season for Pochettino’s side could see them move to within six points of league leaders Chelsea, if Antonio Conte’s side slip up against Burnley on Sunday.
In other Tottenham news, Martin Keown believes Liverpool will find success if they challenge this senior Spurs pair.
