Goalkeeper and defenders
Craig Gordon (Goalkeeper) – Put fears about his form to rest with a great save in the Betfred Cup Final, set to be first choice goalkeeper for a while yet
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – Scotland’s young player of the year who will cause Motherwell all sorts of problems with his rampaging runs down the wing, no slouch at the back either.
Jozo Simunovic (Centre-back) – Will be expected to deal with Motherwell’s Louis Moult in his usual no nonsense style, despite being injury prone is still probably Celtic’s best central defender
Dedryck Boyata (Centre-back) – A key man for manager Brendan Rodgers who is a big fan, passing is sometimes poor but usually dependable at the back and able to pop up with a goal now and then
Mikael Lustig (Right-back) – Has shaken off injury to retain his place in the side, can offer a threat going forward as well as being solid in defence, already has two goals this season
