Mikey Johnston told he can agree Celtic move after ‘huge’ development – pundit
Celtic ace Mikey Johnston will make a decision on his future this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton praised Johnston, 24, for his impressive loan spell with Championship side West Brom.
The winger moved down south on a six-month loan spell after he struggled to earn regular minutes at Parkhead and has since thrived with the play-off-chasing Baggies.
Across 15 games for Carlos Corberan’s side, Johnston has notched seven goals and one assist – most recently the opening strike in West Brom’s 2-2 draw against Stoke earlier this month (6 April).
Mikey Johnston ‘in shop window’ ahead of potential Celtic exit
Hutton claimed that the Republic of Ireland international will be in the “shop window” this summer, but his final destination will be in his own hands.
“He’s gone down to West Brom and he’s done really well,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s out in the shop window, so it’s really up to him as to if he wants to leave Celtic.
“He’s performed really well out on loan and he will assess his options in the summer.
“Johnston’s been huge for West Brom, scoring goals, creating opportunities and doing everything you’d expect from a wide player.

“It will be interesting to see what happens and he’s a really talented footballer.
“Again, I think he’s going to have all the cards.”
