Mills moots possibility of Kane downing tools at Tottenham after development

Danny Mills has suggested Harry Kane’s levels in Tottenham training may drop as much as 10 per cent if he is not allowed to leave the club.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Manchester City and England defender insisted any reduction in effort from Kane will have an “absolutely huge” impact.

Football Insider first broke the news in April that the England captain had made it clear to friends he wants to leave Spurs this summer.

Kane then told Gary Neville on the Overlap Youtube channel this week he needs to have a conversation with the club and Daniel Levy about his future.

“Harry Kane is in the driving seat,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Now, he’s said he doesn’t want to play and his hearts not in it, it gets to a point where you have to sell him because you’re not going to get the best out of him next season.

“Is he going to put himself on the line in training every day when his heart is not in it?

“If his attitude is first class, which I’m sure it will be, he only has to drop off five or ten per cent and at that level it’s huge, absolutely huge. That makes a massive difference p

“Plus you’ve got no idea who the manager is going to be.”

Football Insider understands Chelsea have made Kane their top summer target and are willing to spend big to secure a deal.

Manchester United are prepared to offer two players in a part-exchange deal for the 27-year-old.
