Mills salutes Forshaw as Radrizzani drops major Leeds transfer hint
Danny Mills has warned it will take time for Adam Forshaw to be able to feature regularly in the Premier League for Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England full-back claimed it was “great to see” Forshaw return after his long injury layoff.
The midfielder started Leeds’ 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup this week – his first senior appearance since September 2019.
It comes amid speculation over the Yorkshire giants adding another midfielder before the transfer window closes.
When asked on Twitter yesterday (26 August) about progress on securing a new midfielder Andrea Radrizzani claimed Forshaw could be that man.
Asked whether the 29-year-old can be like a new signing, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think he’s got a way to go yet.
“You need to get 10 games under your belt really and the Premier League is a different game. It’s a different level of technique and a different level of fitness.
“It’s great to see him back. It’s good to see all players come back from long-term injuries. He’ll just want to keep playing now and get as many games to get him back up to speed as quickly as he can.

“I don’t think it will be this weekend, it will be a while. You’ve still got Stuart Dallas, Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich in that area. You’ve got a lot of players who are ahead of him in terms of fitness, loyalty and what they’ve done so far.
“He’s not only going to have to prove his fitness, but he’s also going to have to prove he’s better than those players and that’s going to take time.”
In other news, a bold Leeds United player prediction has been dropped as he is spotted jetting out of England.
