Mills: Summerville ‘surplus to requirements’ at Leeds after latest transfer reveal
Crysencio Summerville may be currently “surplus to requirements” at Leeds United, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender suggested Summerville could benefit from a loan move away.
Leeds Live reported yesterday (26 January) several European clubs are chasing the 20-year-old on loan including Hamburger SV.

It is claimed Marcelo Bielsa wants to keep hold of Summerville as one of his four wide options going into the second half of the season.
The Netherland Under-21 has featured five times for Leeds this season and will continue to see his opportunities limited by Raphinha and Jack Harrison.
Raphinha has been the Whites’ standout player all season while Harrison has hit form with four goals in his last three Premier League games.
“I saw Summerville in the game at Fulham where he did okay in spells,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Maybe they’re looking at it and he’s not really in Bielsa’s plans and surplus to requirements at the moment.
“He can go out, get some experience, that will do him good and see what happens when he comes back after that loan period.
“It’s not like he’s a first-team regular, it’s not like he’ll be missed in any way, shape or form.”

Summerville is under contract at Elland Road after signing a three-year deal when he moved from Ajax in the summer of 2020.
At Premier League 2 level, he has eight goals and seven assists in 21 games for Leeds’ Under-23s side.
In other news, a Leeds United employee has issued a ‘£30m’ transfer claim after what he’s heard from Marcelo Bielsa.
