Milos Kerkez, Raul Jimenez react to ‘hard’ message from Fulham ace Sasa Lukic

Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez and Fulham striker Raul Jimenez reacted to a message from Sasa Lukic on social media.

Having moved to Craven Cottage in January 2023 for £8.8million [Mail Online] the Serbian midfielder had a slow start to life with the Whites.

At the time, Fulham‘s midfield duo of Harrison Reed and Joao Palhinha were well established and Lukic spent much of his first season in an understudy role.

However, the departure of the Portuguese midfielder to Bayern Munich left Tottenham target Marco Silva with little option but to place more faith in the ex-Torino midfielder.

Lukic has repaid his manager by quietly having a very impressive season for the Whites, blossoming into one of the Premier League‘s more underrated midfielders.

Ahead of a crucial match against Aston Villa in their chase for European football, Lukic shared a few images on Instagram, preparing for the game, captioned: “Keep working hard for the final challenges of the season.”

The post was liked by Bournemouth’s Liverpool transfer target Kerkez and the Serbian midfielder’s Fulham teammate, Jimenez.

Sasa Lukic form may block Joao Palhinha return from Bayern Munich

Football Insider Verdict

Former Man United and Blackburn scout Mick Brown exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Fulham have held talks over a return for Palhinha.

The tough-tackling midfielder spent two seasons at Craven Cottage, before joining the Bavarian giants last summer for £42.3million [BBC Sport].

Palhinha is a well-liked figure in West London and whilst many fans would love to see him return, Lukic’s form may encourage Fulham’s hierarchy to look to invest in other positions.

The Portuguese midfielder may be avalaible for a slightly discounted fee, given his struggles in Germany, but the figure will likely still be above Fulham’s record outlay of £34million [Sky Sports] that was spent on Emile Smith Rowe in the summer.

Instead, the club may look to invest the money into upgrades in defence, given the Whites have only kept five clean sheets this year.
