Milos Kerkez’s cryptic six-word message sends Liverpool fans into a frenzy

Milos Kerkez has excited Liverpool fans, after the Bournemouth defender sent a mysterious message on social media.

The left-back has had a superb season on the south coast, playing every single game for the Cherries as well as picking up six assists.

Andoni Iraola’s side have had an impressive campaign, already eclipsing their Premier League points record of 48, while still being in with a chance of a Europa Conference League spot.

However, their success hasn’t come without its pitfalls, with Bournemouth confirming that Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid, after the Spanish club activated his release clause.

Kerkez snubbed for award

The Premier League Young Player of the Season nominations were announced on Thursday (15 May), with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, William Saliba, and Morgan Rogers making the list.

However, despite his impressive season, Kerkez missed out, with some fans disappointed that the full-back was being ignored.

Hungarian football journalist Bence Bocsak took to X (15 May) to share his dismay, saying: “Kerkez should be on the shortlist at the very least. Ridiculous he didn’t get a nomination after the season he has had. He ranks third for goal contributions among players aged 21 or younger and he’s a full-back.”

Kerkez replied to the message: “Don’t worry, someone else saw it,” including a winking emoji at the end of his tweet.

Liverpool fans excited by Kerkez message

With the rumours that Liverpool are interested in Kerkez picking up speed, some Reds fans took this as a hint that the full-back could be on the move.

Anfield Sector replied: “Was it Richard Hughes by any chance?” insinuating that the former Bournemouth sporting director, who joined Liverpool at the end of last season, had been in touch.

Anfield TV said: “WELCOME TO ANFIELD,” while The Redmen TV simply replied with the eyes emoji.

After Liverpool missed out on Huijsen, a move for Kerkez could be the next best thing, and perhaps even better for their squad.

Andy Robertson has been a great servant to the club, but at the age of 31, the Hungarian could be the perfect long-term replacement.
