Mohamed Salah already plotting next move amid emphatic Liverpool claim – pundit
Mohamed Salah’s standards will not slip at Liverpool in the 2022-23 campaign because he wants a big move at the end of the season.
That is the view of Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as he suggested Salah will also be motivated by the golden boot.
The Mirror reported earlier this month (18 June) that Liverpool are not worried about the 30-year-old’s performances falling off as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Little progress has been made over a new deal but he confirmed, via Sky Sports last month (27 May), he will see out the final year of his deal at Anfield.
“The reason why I’m not worried about Mo Salah’s commitment is that he wants to be the top goalscorer, he wants to win the golden boot,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He will not have liked [Heung-min] Son getting the same number of goals as him. He will have wanted to be clear and that’s going to be something Mo Salah is going to be trying to do all season again.
“He knows the better he performs next season the better move he gets on a free transfer, the more money he gets on a free transfer.
“I don’t see Mo Salah’s commitment being a problem.
“I just feel for Liverpool, to lose [Sadio] Mane for this season and for next season to lose Salah, it’s going to be very difficult for Liverpool to keep in touch with Man City.

“Unless [Darwin] Nunez can have an unbelievable season, [Luis] Diaz can get even better and then next summer they can bring in another young prospect.
“I don’t think commitment is an issue for Mo Salah, he’s hungry for goals no matter what is going on with his contract situation.”
In other news, “integrity” is at stake as Jurgen Klopp is caught up in a Liverpool-Everton controversy.
