Mohamed Salah: Liverpool ‘desperate’ after early team news confirmed – expert

Liverpool are “desperate” for Mohamed Salah to recover from injury in time to face Arsenal tonight.

That is the view of ex-Tottenham and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about “a really big moment” in the Premier League title race.

Salah was forced off midway through the second half of Liverpool’s victory at Brighton on Saturday with a foot problem.

Speaking to club media on Tuesday (15 March), Jurgen Klopp revealed the winger is likely to be available for Wednesday’s trip to the Emirates.

James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas are the only players expected to be unavailable to the Reds.

When asked how significant Salah’s availability for the trip to Arsenal would be, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs:

“This is a really big moment in the season because Liverpool have to capitalise on City dropping points. The Palace result is insignificant if Liverpool don’t win at Arsenal.

“It’s not going to be easy because Arsenal are better at both ends of the pitch this year. Klopp will desperately want Salah fit because he is their go-to man.

“But when you look at the bench and the quality they have, the likes or [Roberto] Firmino and [Diogo] Jota, they could cope.

“But you always want one of, if not the best player in the world in big games.”
