Mohamed Salah: Liverpool face ‘mayhem’ after source’s contract talks reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has warned Mohamed Salah he would ruin his legacy at Liverpool by joining a Premier League rival.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted there would be “mayhem” should the 29-year-old head to another English club.
A source with knowledge of Salah’s situation told Football Insider on Saturday (12 March) that the winger wants to remain in the Premier League if he cannot agree a new contract at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp admitted on Friday (11 March) the club has done what they can to convince the Egypt star, whose current terms run until 2023, to stay and that it is “Salah’s decision”.
The winger wants a £500,000-a-week deal, which he does not believe is unreasonable considering his performance levels.
Hutton admitted he cannot see Salah joining another top-flight side in England, even if he does let his contract run down.
Discussing the prospect of Salah joining a Premier League rival, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Oof, I dread to even think what it would be like. It would be mayhem.
“I genuinely can’t see that happening. I think if they weren’t to come to some sort of agreement, it would probably be a foreign club (he joins).
“If you look at it, he’s 29 going on 30. He’s got another year so he’s going to be 31. I suppose he would be out of contract so most teams would fancy him.
“But I think that would be a really difficult one. You think of his legacy at Liverpool, he’s just going to tarnish that if he goes to a rival team. So I genuinely can’t see that happening, no way.”

Salah has scored 153 goals in 238 Liverpool appearances.
He has won the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup and League Cup at Anfield.
In other news, Liverpool are well on course to make extraordinary £550million-plus announcement.
