Mohamed Salah ‘to definitely leave’ Liverpool – ‘record contract’ already agreed

Mohammed Salah will “definitely be leaving Liverpool” in the summer for a move to the Saudi Pro League.

That is according to former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who claimed he has a “source” who’s told him the bombshell news.

Agbonlahor even claimed that Salah, 32, has agreed a “record-breaking contract” that will earn him more than Cristiano Ronaldo and make him the face of the entire league.

Salah has been heavily linked to the SPL over the last 12 months, with Liverpool rejecting an offer worth up to £150million in the summer of 2023.

There was further interest from Saudi in the more recent transfer window but the Egyptian superstar has remained at Anfield and began the season in outstanding form for Liverpool.

He has scored four goals and supplied four assists from seven matches in all competitions and started all six of Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League matches.

But Salah’s contract, like those of superstar teammates Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is due to expire at the end of the season.

With the clock ticking down for potential extensions for the trio, Agbonlahor has revealed he has the inside scoop on one of the Anfield legends.

“I know Salah’s going,” the former Football Insider pundit said live on talkSPORT

The former Premier League man didn’t name a specific club but claimed that Salah will sign a record deal in Saudi.

“I’ve got a source that told me Salah’s definitely going. Saudi, on a record contract.

“I’m hearing that he will earn more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he’ll be the face of the football over there. You can’t turn that down if you’re Mo Salah. He’s done everything at Liverpool hasn’t he?”

“I think he would have signed a new contract by now [if he was staying], and it’s an offer he can’t turn down,” he added.

Speaking after Liverpool’s landmark win at Man United last month, Salah said: “You know this is my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it. It’s not up to me but no one has spoken to me at the club.”

In other news, Liverpool could now sign England international in stunning ‘£40m’ deal.
