Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta could now leave West Ham – expert

West Ham could lose Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta in the transfer window in what would be a devastating double blow.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie claimed that keeping the duo is the club’s “biggest problem.”

The verdict comes after news emerged last month that the London Stadium outfit are looking for a new investor in the Middle East or elsewhere.

McAvennie is eager for the Hammers to sign two new defenders, but believes such transfers would be futile if Kudus and Paqueta were to leave.

In an injury-hit campaign, the Brazilian has tallies of seven goals and seven assists from all competitions, while Ghana international Kudus has 12 goals and five assists from his 36 appearances for the club.

The London Stadium club currently sit seventh in the Premier League table under David Moyes, while they are into the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

West Ham could lose star attackers Lucas Paqueta and Mohamed Kudus

“I think we’ve got people who can score goals,” he told Football Insider.

“We’ve got Kudus and Paqueta… keeping those two is the biggest problem for me, I fear they will both leave, that’s what I keep hearing.

“I don’t want to bring in two defenders but get rid of Kudus and Paqueta. We need to keep them, and get defenders.”

When fit, the attacking duo have regularly lined out alongside Jarrod Bowen, who has been in superb form under Moyes in all competitions this season.
