Mohammed Kudus: West Ham insider shares ‘certain’ Arsenal update

Arsenal have been joined by rival clubs from across Europe in the race to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus next summer.

Former West Ham senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at the London Stadium and within the game, exclusively told Football Insider that Kudus is “certainly” on Arsenal’s list of targets and he wouldn’t be surprised to see a deal agreed.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 9 November that the Gunners are weighing up a move to sign the 24-year-old in the summer of 2025.

However, with multiple clubs keeping tabs on his progress at West Ham, it has been suggested that the deal could become complicated.

Interest from rival clubs could allow the Hammers to drive up the Ghanaian’s price tag in an attempt to get the best possible deal.

It also remains a possibility that Kudus could remain at West Ham beyond the summer transfer window – although he is keen to see the club match his ambitions.

However, so far this season, the club have won just three of their opening Premier League games and Julen Lopetegui is facing increasing pressure on his position.

Kudus made the move to East London from Ajax in 2023 and has made 55 appearances for the Hammers, inspiring plenty of high-profile interest.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in player recrutiment including in over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Arsenal are “definitely” keen on the deal, but could be impacted by the competition.

It’s definitely one I can see happening,” he told Football Insider.

“Kudus is a very infleuncial player, he can change a game at any moment.

“But Arsenal aren’t the only ones interested in him, I’ve heard he’s attracted interest from some of the top clubs and not just in the Premier League.

“I think Arsenal’s interest is clear and he’d do a good job for them, he’s certainly on their list.

“But that doesn’t mean that’s definitely where he’ll end up.

“Now, that’s good news for West Ham because it could help to drive his price tag up.

“And, of course, he might even stay at West Ham. He’ll want them to match his ambitions and that will probably be to play in Europe.

“That looks unlikely with how they’ve started the season, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that he’ll leave just because clubs are looking at him.
