Moises Caicedo spotted in major Chelsea injury update ahead of PSG final
Chelsea supporters have been issued an update on Moises Caicedo’s fitness ahead of a crucial Club World Cup clash against PSG.
The Ecuadorian, who has become an incredibly key figure at Stamford Bridge since arriving on a £115million deal from Brighton in 2023 [BBC Sport], limped off during the 2-0 win over Fluminense.
Just five days later, the Blues are set to face Luis Enrique’s PSG side in the Club World Cup final on Sunday, 13 July, and supporters are very worried about the prospect of playing without their midfielder.
With Trevoh Chalobah’s handball decision overturned in Chelsea’s favour, the game was full of controversial and exciting moments, but many began watching between their fingers when Caicedo hit the turf.
Now, however, despite Andrey Santos, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Romeo Lavia, and Enzo Fernandez all available, the main focus has been on the former Brighton man, and a fresh injury update has emerged.

Taking to X (10 July), the Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill wrote: “Moises Caidedo is in Chelsea training after injury scare versus Fluminense,” with Blues supporters worried ahead of the Club World Cup final.

The new manager has overcome a lot of adversity since moving over from Leicester City, leading the Blues to a top-five Premier League finish as well as the Europa Conference League title.
His biggest challenge right now is likely how to handle Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, with Keith Hackett telling the boss to send the 24-year-old home after a stupid sending-off against Flamengo.
Nothing will have been as daunting as facing the current Champions League title holders, though, with PSG putting down a huge marker with their 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
Supporters will, no doubt, believe that this side has what it takes to bring home the Club World Cup trophy from America, but Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will say otherwise.
The Ligue 1 giants have conceded just a single goal at the tournament, losing 1-0 to Botafogo in the group stage, and Enrique’s side have barely looked back since that slip-up.
Caicedo being fit enough to feature in training will be an enormous boost for the Blues, but if they are to overcome PSG, it will need to be an entire team effort at the MetLife Stadium.
