Morgan Rogers: Here’s what Aston Villa fans need to know about in-demand star in January
Morgan Rogers has been sensational for Aston Villa so far this season.
The England international has been one of the driving forces behind the Birmingham outfit’s rise up the Premier League table, netting seven times in the Premier League this season.
As a result, Rogers has been routinely praised this season at Aston Villa, as they look to return to the Champions League.
However, with this form, speculation has also arisen on his future, with clubs such as Chelsea being linked with Rogers throughout the season.
It just had to be him…

Aston Villa have no desire to sell Rogers in January
Losing Rogers in the January transfer window would no doubt harm Villa’s hopes of finishing inside the top four and winning a trophy this season.
Under Unai Emery, Rogers has arguably been the Birmingham outfit’s best player this season and was key to their 11-match winning streak, which only ended on Tuesday.
- Rogers has picked up 10 goal contributions in the Premier League this season amid a sensational run of form
- The winger will be aiming to return to the Champions League this campaign after narrowly missing out at the end of last season
- Despite signing a long-term contract in November, Rogers has continued to be linked away
Thankfully, for the Villa Park faithful, Sky Sports on 1 January confirmed that they are not looking to sell any of their first-team players this month.
This also includes Matty Cash, Ollie Watkins and John McGinn, who have also been linked away in recent weeks.
Who could Aston Villa sign in January?
Unfortunately, Aston Villa do not look set to make any first-team signings this January transfer window.
Villa had PSR problems in the summer, and this still remains in play in the January transfer window.
One signing that they have already made is Alysson, who has joined from Gremio for £10.5million.
The 19-year-old is not expected to be heavily involved in the first team, with the winger having plenty of potential.
However, it remains to be seen if these plans change in January, with potential sales having the possibility to fund further additions this months.
