Morgan Rogers sends message to Cole Palmer after intriguing claim
Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer was named England Player of the Year after his impressive rise to prominence since joining the West London club.
The 22-year-old has arguably been the best player in the Premier League since leaving boyhood club Man City for Chelsea in August 2023.
With 44 goal contributions since joining the club, no player—not even goal machine Erling Haaland(42)—has posed as much of an attacking threat as the England international.
Palmer has been involved in 11 of Chelsea’s 16 Premier League goals this season alone, scoring six and providing five assists.
Former teammate Morgan Rogers happy for Chelsea star Cole Palmer
Rogers, 22, came through Man City’s famed academy alongside Palmer before joining Championship side Middlesbrough in 2023 as he searched for first-team football.
The two have been close ever since, with Rogers claiming he was the one who came up with Palmer’s now iconic ‘cold’ celebration.
Clearly elated with his latest achievement, Palmer took to Instagram to express his joy, to which Rogers responded with support for his friend.
Palmer is back with England for the first time since scoring in their 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat against Spain in the summer.

Rogers is yet to receive his first England call-up but it feels like only a matter of time after an impressive start to the season for Aston Villa, scoring once again providing two assists in their first seven games.
Interim manager has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal, with Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and now Palmer all competing for three spots.
