Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has taken to Twitter to acknowledge an important game for the club against Hull on Saturday.
The Gunners host Marco Silva’s side at the Emirates in the Premier League and have lost back-to-back games going into the match.
Arsene Wenger’s team have been defeated by Chelsea and Watford in recent weeks, meaning they have slipped down to fourth in the league table.
The north London club are now 12 points adrift of table toppers Chelsea and their title dreams appear to be over for yet another season.
However, they will still believe a good run of results can get them back into contention and that will need to start at the weekend.
Arsenal defender Mustafi is being positive ahead of the club’s crucial match with Hull.
“Important home game tomorrow. Time to take a step in the right direction again,” Mustafi wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Arsenal will start as favourites on Saturday despite the poor form and will be hoping that home advantage counts.
Meanwhile, relegation threatened Hull will be quietly confident after taking four points from their last two games against Liverpool and Manchester United.
Silva’s side earned a fantastic 2-0 win over the Merseyside club at home, while picking up a precious away point at Old Trafford in a goalless draw.
Mustafi has established himself as a regular first-team starter since his summer arrival from Valencia and was unbeaten in his first 22 games for the club.
The 24-year-old centre-back has now tasted consecutive defeats and will be hoping to orchestrate a clean sheet against Hull.
In other Arsenal news, the club’s supporters have reacted on Twitter to Olivier Giroud’s award snub.
