Aston Villa edged out an intriguing affair 2-1 against Young Boys in the Europa League on 27 November, despite Evann Guessand’s underwhelming display.
Aston Villa just about beat Young Boys as Unai Emery‘s side controlled the tempo for the majority of the 90 minutes until the latter stages.
Yet, Harvey Elliott was once again left out of the Aston Villa starting XI, as the midfielder continues to struggle for regular minutes.
On an excellent night for the Villains, fans were still let down by certain individuals such as summer signing Evann Guessand, who was unable to have a good impact on the match.

Since joining the Villains from Nice, the Ivorian has found it hard to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has just one goal to his name in 16 matches and Emery may be starting to lose patience with the forward.
The ex-Nantes man was unable to really trouble the Young Boys defence as he mustered one effort on goal and landed just one of his six crosses.

Moreover, the number 29 lost possession 12 times as he frequently got dispossessed which was rather alarming given he touched the ball 35 times.
The Spaniard would’ve also been infuriated by Guessand’s work rate as he only won three of his nine duels.
Aston Villa supporters were clearly unimpressed with another wasted opportunity for their summer signing as they vocalised their frustrations on X.
