Nathan Collins agrees six-year Brentford deal as Wolves finalise club-record move
Nathan Collins has signed a six-year deal with Brentford after completing a move from Wolves.
The Bees confirmed the arrival of Collins from Molineux on Tuesday (4 July).
The 22-year-old has become the London club’s record signing after they agreed a £23million fee with Wolves, as revealed by Football Insider on Monday (3 July)
The price will surpass the £21m paid for German attacker Kevin Schade who joins on a permanent deal following a loan spell in the second half of the season.
Football Insider first broke the news last month (26 June) that Brentford had won the race to sign Collins.
Thomas Frank’s side had several bids rejected for the defender but have now reached an agreement to bring him to the Community Stadium until 2029.
Collins’ current contract at Wolves runs until 2027 after signing from Burnley last summer for a reported £20m.
The centre-back made 31 appearances for Julen Lopetegui’s side across all competitions last season as was in the starting lineup for 24 of those outings.
Collins was a regular feature in the Wolves side before the arrival of Craig Dawson in January pushed him down the pecking order.
Lopetegui’s side finished the season in 13th and comfortably clear of the relegation zone.

Brentford on the other hand finished ninth in the top flight and only one point behind Tottenham.
Frank’s side are keen for reinforcements in an attempt to push even further up the league table in the upcoming campaign.
In other news, Brentford agree to allow goalkeeper to complete loan move.
