Nathan Patterson cited by expert as Rangers close in on new signing
Alan Hutton is excited by the prospect of Zak Lovelace joining Rangers this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender suggested the 16-year-old could break into the first team at Ibrox similarly to Nathan Patterson.
Our site revealed (25 June) that Rangers have reached an agreement to sign the Millwall striker, who will put pen to paper this week.

Lovelace joined Millwall’s youth side last year and made four appearances for the senior team during the 21/22 season.
The teenage forward made his debut for the senior side last year at the age of just 15, making him the second-youngest player to ever appear for the club.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Hutton said: “I think there’s a good possibility of it happening.
“I think Rangers are trying to improve the youth setup, and that’s not to say there’s not boys coming through. We’ve seen the likes of Nathan Patterson, Leon King, these kinds of guys coming through but we want to see more.

“Especially as a Rangers fan, you want to see the youngsters breaking through and not just disappearing down south, like Billy Gilmour did very early on which was a shame for Rangers.
“We want to see this top talent come in a show that there is a way through to the first team and I think this is the start of this kind of development for the youngsters.”
In other news, Rangers are in advanced talks to sign Everton sensation Cameron Bell.
