Jason Holt: This is who needs to take responsibility for Rangers rotten run
Rangers midfielder Jason Holt believes that his Ibrox team-mates ”need to take responsibility” after falling to defeats in each of their last two games and end any hopes of a title challenge from the Gers this season.
A surprise home defeat against St. Johnstone was followed up by a 2-1 reverse against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last Saturday to leave the Gers 14 points off league leaders Celtic.
The Gers host Motherwell on Wednesday night at Ibrox and 24-year-old Ibrox star Holt insists the Light Blues “can’t” lose three games on the spin.
“You can’t lose three games in a row at Rangers,” Holt said, as quoted by the Evening Times.
“The players need to look at themselves. We need to take full responsibility. We are the only ones that can change it.
“After two defeats we need to get back on track. It has not been good enough.”
Holt has made 17 appearances for the Gers this season after winning back a regular place in the side near the end of Pedro Caixinha’s reign as manager.
The former Hearts and Sheffield United midfielder is almost certain to start on Wednesday night against Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell as the Gers play their final home game on the year.
Graeme Murty’s side travel to Celtic Park on Saturday for the second Old Firm game of the season before heading to Florida for the Scottish Premiership’s winter shutdown.
Holt has made 100 appearances for the Ibrox side since signing from Hearts in 2015.
In other Rangers news, three Gers players could play their final games for the club against Celtic this week.
