‘Needs to be sold ASAP’ – Newcastle fans erupt as Eddie Howe confirms injury blow, ‘Get rid’

Eddie Howe has been handed yet more blows as Newcastle United attempt to get back to winning ways after defeat to Marseille.

Yoane Wissa remained on the sidelines as the Magpies suffered a 2-1 loss in the Champions League, with the Ligue 1 giants fighting back through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Wednesday, 26 November.

William Osula and Kieran Trippier were also missing, and the duo are also likely to be absent for the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium when Howe’s side take on Everton on Saturday, 29 November.

While Football Insider understands that Howe retains the backing of Newcastle’s owners, frustrations are starting to grow at St James’ Park, and the latest injury update will not help in the slightest.

Newcastle United fans frustrated as Sven Botman injured again

Howe has confirmed that Trippier will likely be sidelined for about a month, but also gave the good news that Emil Krafth will be available. The same could not be said for Sven Botman, who picked up a back injury.

Multiple fans are already talking about the prospect of trying to sell Botman and replace him with a less injury-prone centre-back, with one supporter saying that he “needs to be sold ASAP”.

Eddie Howe already has a plan ahead of January

Supporters are keen for the club to invest heavily during the January transfer market, especially with the Magpies currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table.

Football Insider understands that Howe could target four key areas ahead of the next transfer window: left-back, right-back, midfield, and striker.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, while both are extremely talented, their spells on the sidelines have been very telling this season, and signing back-ups for both would be a sensible idea.

Clearly, fans feel as though a brand-new centre-back would help the Magpies’ season to improve, especially if Botman’s injury problems are to emerge again at St James’ Park.

The 25-year-old has started eight of Newcastle’s Premier League games so far this season, but having only played 10 games in the entirety of last term, fans are already thinking the worst.
