Neil Warnock ‘cannot believe’ one thing Ruben Amorim has done at Man United
Neil Warnock has waded into the conversation surrounding under-fire Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, after one thing he did against Grimsby Town.
Despite claims to the contrary, Ruben Amorim will not quit his Man Utd job, while the Red Devils may be keeping Amorim for financial reasons, as the cost of firing him is weighed against the risk of keeping him at the club.
If the Portuguese coach was sacked, Barcelona legend Xavi would ‘say yes immediately’ if Man United called, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Much like many of the players at the club, Joshua Zirkzee is unhappy at Man United and could push for a January transfer. The culture at United is toxic after several years of high player churn and a huge managerial overturn.

Neil Warnock pokes fun at embarrassing Ruben Amorim moment vs Grimsby Town
Speaking on talkSPORT, Neil Warnock was discussing a recent embarrassing moment Ruben Amorim was involved in during the disgraceful Carabao Cup exit at the hands of minnows Grimsby Town.
United lost on penalties to the League Two side after the game ended in a 2-2 draw. During the match, with the Red Devils struggling to create any real chances, Amorim was spotted with a Subbuteo tactics board on his lap by the TV cameras.
Gabriel Agbonlahor said to Warnock: “Manchester United job, Neil? You know, they’re struggling.”
The 76-year-old replied: “Hey, listen. When you talk about that have you ever laughed so much in your life when he’s got the Subbuteo table on his lap in that game?
“I’m looking at that, and I’m thinking, ‘I cannot, I cannot believe what he’s just done in front of the cameras.’
“I mean I’ve seen it all. Listen, I’m available if they’re struggling, I’ll go in. I won’t charge them anything. I’ll do it for nothing. Put my name in the hat.”
Sunderland game is must-win for Amorim to save his skin
Manchester United face Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday (4 October), and at this stage of the season, Amorim is already under immense pressure.
Sunderland, who are fifth, propose a rather stern test of this frail United side, and with pressure mounting on the club hierarchy to dismiss Amorim, this weekend could prove to be pivotal in the Portuguese coach’s future. Amorim has been warned that Sunderland is a must-win game.
They are 14th in the Premier League table and nine points behind Sunderland. Assuming the teams below United win this weekend, they could be in the relegation zone by the time this gameweek ends.
Amorim’s side has already conceded 11 goals in league football this season at an average of almost two per game. While they invested plenty of money into good attacking signings, United remain frail defensively.
