‘Missing’, ‘Unforgivable’ – Celtic fans blast 26-year-old for display v Rangers

Celtic fans have taken to social media to rage about James Forrest’s performance against Rangers in the 0-0 Old Firm draw at Parkhead on Saturday.

The 26-year-old has had a stellar season so far but aside from a shot which Wes Foderingham saved he didn’t have much of an impact on the match, which ended 0-0.

One supporter vented that the player was ‘missing in a big game yet again’.

Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter to Forrest’s performance:

Forrest is arguably having his best ever season in football with 12 goals scored already this season, but he found it difficult to make an impact against Rangers.

The game itself was the proverbial game of two halves. The Hoops dominated the first-half and aside from the aforementioned Forrest chance Scott Sinclair missed an absolute sitter on the stroke of half-time, sidefooting the ball past the post when it looked easier to score.

Rangers dominated the second-half, and Craig Gordon was the Hoops hero, saving firstly from James Tavernier then producing a miraculous save to keep out an Alfredo Morelos header.

Despite the poor performance, the Hoops head into their winter break in Dubai still 11 points clear of their Glasgow rivals and eight points clear of second placed Aberdeen, who could only draw 0-0 with Hearts.
