New Leeds signing posts Twitter image after first Elland Road visit

Leeds’ latest addition Paudie O’Connor hailed the “unreal atmosphere” during his first experience of Elland Road in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with QPR.

The Irish Examiner claimed earlier in the month that the Yorkshire giants had signed the 19-year-old from League of Ireland club Limerick after he had agreed terms and already penned the terms of a contract.

There has not yet been an official announcement on the signing of O’Connor, but he was an unused substitute for Leeds Under-23s on Monday afternoon in their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Additionally, the young star was part of the crowd at Elland Road on Saturday and he shared on his personal Twitter account after the match how the fans had impressed him.

O’Connor had made 39 appearances for Limerick’s first team and was considered a bright prospect at the Irish First Division club.

As well as the centre-back role he has also occupied the right-back position, showing his versatility.

He will now be looking to move up from the Under-23s and make his first team debut for Leeds in the near future.

The Yorkshire giants’ academy has a fantastic history of producing stars, including James Milner, Jonathan Woodgate and Danny Rose and fans will hoping O’Connor is the next on the production line.
