‘Newcastle are concerned about Tino Livramento’, Eddie Howe shares injury update
Newcastle United are concerned about Tino Livramento after he suffered another serious injury during their FA Cup clash against Bournemouth.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that questions are being asked of the 23-year-old’s fitness and any underlying problems.
Newcastle beat Bournemouth on penalties to progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup following a 3-3 draw, but were immediately dealt a significant blow.
Eddie Howe confirmed Livramento suffered a hamstring injury and will now miss “a period of time”, following a number of unrelated injury issues.
So far this season, the England international has missed 13 games through injury, and there are concerns his issues may stem from the serious blow earlier in his career.

Newcastle ‘concerned’ after Tino Livramento injury blow
Brown told Football Insider on 18 November that Livramento is focused on getting fit for Newcastle and for England despite speculation about his long-term future.
However, the full-back, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament as a teenager during his time at Southampton, is now causing concerns amongst Newcastle’s medical staff.
“Livramento’s injuries are starting to become a concern,” Brown told Football Insider.
“It seems every time he’s just getting fit and putting a run together back in the side, something else happens and then he’s out for another couple of weeks.
“That’s when questions start to be asked. Is his metabolism not right? Can he handle playing in the Premier League every other day? The medical team will be looking into it.
“It might have something to do with the knee injury he picked up a few years ago, quite often they can lead to long-term issues and that might be the case here.
“But it’s certainly a concern for Newcastle, and it’s a concern for England too because he looked like somebody who would be pushing for the World Cup squad.
“That’s not going to happen if he can’t play more than four games without being injured.”
Newcastle eye Mateus Mane after Wolves exit news
Amid frustrations surrounding multiple injured players and some disappointing performances this season, the Magpies are aiming to bolster their squad.
Football Insider revealed on 9 January that Newcastle are interested in Wolves gem Mateus Mane, although that deal is unlikely to happen this month.
Wolves are extremely reluctant to lose the 18-year-old but may be unable to turn down offers for his services should they suffer relegation come the end of the season.

Mane starred in Wolves 3-0 win against West Ham, before scoring again in a 1-1 draw with Everton, placing clubs on alert over his talent.
Brown told Football Insider on 7 January that Chelsea and Man City are keeping tabs on Mane, alongside a number of rival clubs.
