Newcastle could boost transfer kitty with multiple Saudi deals – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Newcastle must take advantage of their Saudi links by securing more sponsorship and commercial deals.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed tapping into PIF’s illustrious other investments will boost the Magpies’ revenue streams and transfer kitty.
Newcastle announced a loss of £73.4million for the 2022-23 season earlier this year after spending big in the summer window two years ago.
The Tyneside club’s commercial income increased 66% on the previous year – rocketing from £26.5million to £43.9million.
Newcastle have since agreed a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Sela, a new partnership with Red Bull and have kicked off a new shirt deal with Adidas.
Newcastle must boost budget with more Saudi sponsorship deals, says Wyness
Wyness insisted the Magpies must go even further to unlock more funds in the transfer market.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “They’ve got to try and increase the revenue streams.
“I think they should be doing more in Saudi to create more opportunities, as well as working with the PIF’s other investments across the world.

“I’ve not seen enough of those opportunities capitalised on yet.
“The PIF have stakes in some big companies, and if they can be sponsoring Newcastle – then that will really allow the club to spend more money in the market.”
