Newcastle could sell Chris Wood and sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin after reveal - pundit
Newcastle United could sell Chris Wood to make room for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s future.
A recruitment source told Football Insider last week (27 April) that Calvert-Lewin is likely to leave Everton this summer and that he has told friends he wants a move to Arsenal.
Newcastle are also interested in the England international as they look to continue spending following last year’s takeover.
The Magpies have struggled for goals this season, with Callum Wilson still the club’s top scorer this season despite being injured since December.
Kenny claims Chris Wood could even be sold to make way for the Everton striker.

“Calvert-Lewin is going to leave Everton, I think that’s clear,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is interest from some big teams, Arsenal, Newcastle. I can see him going to Newcastle.
“That’s the place to be, I keep saying it. If he goes up there, he can be the main man for the next four, five years.
“Chris Wood won’t be there long, he could even be gone this summer. Wilson has his injury issues too so Newcastle really need a good striker.
“If Calvert-Lewin can prove his fitness then I think he would be a really good purchase.”
Calvert-Lewin has struggled with injuries this season, only making 13 appearances in the league.
He has scored three goals in the top flight.
