Newcastle could sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin in ‘double your money’ deal – Agbonlahor ‘can see it happening’
Newcastle could double the wages of target Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 24-year-old could win trophies “very soon” at St James’ Park.
According to The Sun (26 March), Everton will sell Calvert-Lewin during the main transfer window as boss Frank Lampard looks to “slash the payroll” at Goodison Park.

The Toffees reportedly demanded £60million for the striker’s services in January.
Newcastle were linked with England international Calvert-Lewin in the winter window but ultimately elected to sign Chris Wood from Burnley.
Agbonlahor suggested the former Sheffield United man would be clever to leave a club in “turmoil”.
“I can see that happening,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“If you look at Newcastle, they’re splashing the cash – he could probably double his money.
“Another factor is silverware. Newcastle are a lot more likely to win a trophy before Everton, I would suggest.
“They’ve got a plan to progress up that table by consistently spending money. I could see them winning something very soon – while Everton are in turmoil.
“I think Newcastle will be looking at even better players than Calvert-Lewin, to be honest. He has struggled this season – when he’s been fit.”

Newcastle sit 14th in the Premier League after stringing together an eight-match unbeaten run after the turn of the year.
As reported by The Telegraph last week (23 March), the Magpies are targeting three to four signings this summer with a budget of around £60million available to Eddie Howe.
