Newcastle fans explode at Eddie Howe after what they’ve just seen from Nick Woltemade

Newcastle fans have called on Eddie Howe to make serious changes to his team after seeing what Nick Woltemade did on international duty for Germany.

Nick Woltemade has settled into life at Newcastle well so far this term but improvements still need to be made to adjust their team to his needs.

Woltemade joined Newcastle from Stuttgart late in the summer window after emerging as a surprise target with Alexander Isak on his way to Liverpool.

The big striker has enjoyed a decent start to his time with the Magpies up to now, with six goals in 14 games in all competitions.

Despite his own strong performances, some Newcastle supporters have grown restless with the lack of service to him during their matches, which does not seem to be an issue on the international stage.

Woltemade scored an impressive brace for Germany

Woltemade scored his maiden senior international goal last month with a winner against Northern Ireland, and he was back on the goal trail for Germany in their latest round of fixtures.

The 23-year-old notched an impressive brace for Julian Nagelsmann’s side against Luxembourg on Friday (14 November) as he showed exactly why he is a starter now for both club and country.

His first strike saw Leroy Sane deliver an inch-perfect cross into his feet for a simple close-range finish across the goalkeeper, while the second saw him display some great movement to lose his marker in the area and slam home Ridle Baku’s through ball.

That means he has scored three goals in his last two games for Germany, despite the goals somewhat drying up for Newcastle with just one in his previous six outings.

Newcastle fans slam Howe for not adjusting to Woltemade’s needs as yet

Newcastle fans want answers from boss Eddie Howe, who is under pressure right now after their slow start to the season with the club currently sat 14th in the Premier League.

Fans have called for him to find the solution to unlock Woltemade’s full potential, like Germany clearly have done, with one taking to X to say: “Honestly we’ve stopped feeding him so much that he’s having to become deeper to get on the ball, I hope Eddie changes things, we’re getting found out really quick.”

While another added: “It’s time for Eddie Howe to give up the flat midfield 3 and start playing a CAM, Woltemade will benefit from it massively, so isolated on his own in the middle for us,” and one said: “Woltemade is an unbelievable footballer. If there is any confusion about him being an issue for the Newcastle team it’s how to create a team to work around him. He can do it all it seems and we need to change our style quite quickly to suit him.”
