Newcastle fans fear the worst for Lewis Miley as medical staff blasted: ‘Mental’, ‘Shambles’
Eddie Howe remains without Lewis Miley as the Newcastle United gem’s injury problem continues at St James’ Park.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who has often played out-of-position at full-back, has been sidelined since the end of January, having been benched for the trip to Anfield.
He has since missed a total of seven games, including clashes against Man City, Tottenham and Aston Villa, joining Tino Livramento and Bruno Guimaraes on the treatment table.
Miley is a much-loved figure at St James’ Park, quickly becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet when fit, but there are now concerns that fans may not see him again this season.

It was believed that the youngster had suffered a dead leg, but Howe has now admitted that if his return from injury is not dealt with properly, he could be out until the end of the season.
Lashing out at the Newcastle medical department, supporters labelled the update as “mental” and “a shambles,” with no end in sight for the talented academy product.
Despite the update, fans are now expecting Miley to be sidelined until the end of the campaign, with one supporter labelling the medical department as “the worst” in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail reported that the 19-year-old is likely to miss the next three matches, and that would be good news compared to what many now fear at St James’ Park.

If Miley is to return for the Champions League round of 16, he will be faced with a very tricky battle against Barcelona, and should he be at right-back, Marcus Rashford or Raphinha.
