Newcastle fans send clear message to Eddie Howe after latest PSR reveal: ‘You blew £100m’
Newcastle are yet to bring in a new signing this transfer window to help boost their Champions League ambitions.
Football Insider recently revealed that Newcastle want a centre-back and a new left-back before the window shuts.
However, despite Eddie Howe’s squad needing these reinforcements, the Magpies are yet to make an official move for a player.
Now, the manager has confirmed that PSR is still an issue, but the St James’ Park faithful are not happy with this excuse.

Newcastle fans remind Eddie Howe of the money he spent in the summer
While Newcastle have brought in a lot of money from Alexander Isak’s departure, they also spent plenty in the summer.
This saw players such as Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey brought into St James’ Park for £40million and £36m respectively.
While there have been some successful summer signings, such as Nick Woltemade, who cost £33m, both Elanga and Ramsey have both flopped so far.
Therefore, in the build-up to the Aston Villa match on Sunday, many Magpies fans were unhappy with Howe’s PSR excuse, considering how much money he splashed in the summer on flops.
Eddie.

You blew £100m on Elanaga and Ramsey who have largely been useless.
You can’t do that and cry about PSR
Sorry but this drivel doesn’t cut it anymore when you are paying well over the odds for PL players who aren’t at the level required (Ramsey, Elanga)

Nope, wasting £220m in the summer is.

STOP MOANING ABOUT PSR!!!!! You spent £720 million quid!! Mostly on EPL experienced players because they can hit the ground running. Yet the last three have struggled doing just that! NUFC Owners can’t moan either they haven’t even bothered pushing the boundaries of PSR! https://t.co/OxNy5I1Ji4

Elanga and Ramsey were definitely panic buys. They have not elevated our squad in any way shape or form. I love Eddie but come on!

It’s not Eddie you waffler, you blew money in the summer, we are never scouting smart bargains abroad. Only Premier League players, this is just excuses. Just admit we scouted no one.

Wissa wasn’t a panic buy?

Elanga wasn’t a panic buy?
It sure feels that they were.
Those players better start doing a lot in the PL and soon IF they want to be worth the money…
I don’t care about one goal against PSV. That just isn’t anywhere near good enough. #NUFC
Who could Newcastle sign before the transfer window closes?
Despite their PSR struggles, Newcastle have continued to be linked to players in recent weeks.
Newcastle are reportedly competing with Bournemouth for Vasco da Gama forward Rayan.
The striker scored 20 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions last season, including 14 in the Brazilian Serie A – a tally bettered by just four players.
On top of this, Football Insider recently revealed that Newcastle have registered interest in Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij.

The 33-year-old centre-back has struggled for consistent game time at the Italian giants this season, and came close to signing for Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal this transfer window before the deal collapsed.
However, it remains to be seen if the Magpies are going to follow up on any of this interest with an official bid for these players, with time running out.
With the transfer window set to close on 2 February, Howe will need to race against the clock if any deals are to be done between now and deadline day as the Magpies look to finish the campaign as high as possible.
