Atsu retained his place in the starting XI after netting against Stoke last weekend, but it was, like so many others, a disappointing day for the Ghanaian.
He tried to impact the game when he had the ball, but that came rarely as Newcastle focused attack after attack down the centre.
He often found himself having to come over to the right wing to see any action, but he still failed to provide any end product.
