Club captain Lascelles has been Newcastle’s rock at the back as well as their star man up front from set plays, but this was not one of his stand out performances.
The defence looked shaky from the off, and the former Nottingham Forest man was no exception.
He managed with the majority of Brighton’s aerial attempts but was less confident with the ball along the floor, with several misplaced passes, while his positioning was not always what you would expect.
