Newcastle player ratings in defeat v Chelsea: Speed machine shines in 7/10 display

When Newcastle needed their defence to step up, Lejeune became a shrinking violet, in what may have been his most disappointing display in the black and white of the Magpies.
He looked lacking in confidence, and without the drive or desire to really dominate the Chelsea attack with his physicality.
It can perhaps be put down to a bad day at the office against opposition filled with quality, but in the Premier League players need to be able to raise their game and the French centre back was unable to do that at Stamford Bridge.
