Why Benitez continues to pick Diame in the centre of midfield can only be down to the performances he puts in on the training pitch, as he is severely lacking the quality needed to have the desired impact in matches.
He looks laboured when on the ball and his off the ball movement is near to non-existent, which does not help the side in any way, shape or form.
His physical presence should have disrupted the Chelsea midfield but he was rarely close enough to anyone in a blue shirt to have an impact, although when he did, it usually led to a foul.
