Reverting back to the left flank after taking Yedlin’s place on the right last weekend, he is still yet to prove himself to the Newcastle faithful but is perhaps the best option in current circumstances.
He struggled to deal with the pace of the Leicester attack for much of the game, although he did manage to find the chance to bomb forward on occasion.
Newcastle have to demonstrate that they are resolute at the back, and the full backs play a key role in doing so – so Manquillo needs to show more to prove he has what it takes or risk dropping out the side.
