There is not much else to say about Manquillo’s performance than ‘bang average’
In all honesty, he did what he could considering he has been shoehorned into a position he is not a natural in, but his lack of experience on the left shows at times.
He offered a decent attacking threat going down the left, even making one brilliant run through the Southampton midfield, but it is his defensive duties which need improving.
Still, with no Paul Dummett or Massadio Haidara, Benitez has to do with what he has available, and that comes down to Manquillo or Jesus Gamez.
