What else could poor Rob Elliot do to try and help his side.
All three of the goals were beyond his, or anyone’s, goalkeeping ability, and will be pointing his finger at the woeful attempts of his defence.
Perhaps he could be accused of failing to command his box but really the defenders should know their roles without the goalkeeper telling them what to do.
Still, ended up conceding three goals and will have to work with both Benitez and the goalkeeping coach to ensure that it does not happen again on Tuesday against West Brom.
