The Spanish defender continues to look uncomfortable on the left flank, but unlike DeAndre Yedlin, has the excuse that it is not his natural position.
He actually did not have to do too much against Watford as they targeted the American to great effect, and he even offered a presence in the attacking half of the pitch.
Fans should not be surprised if, following the return of Paul Dummett from his injury layoff, Manquillo takes his place at right back in place of his defensive counterpart.
