Newcastle star William Osula sends six-word message as Rangers transfer confirmed
William Osula has been facing an uncertain future at Newcastle United in recent weeks.
The Dane joined the Magpies in the summer of 2024, as they shelled out a fee of around £15million to sign him from Sheffield United, but he has struggled to establish himself on Tyneside.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in November that Newcastle could facilitate an exit for Osula in the January transfer window, providing they could secure a capable replacement for him.
Eddie Howe is keen to strengthen his hand at St James’ Park as Newcastle look to push for Champions League qualification, but there could be exits as well as arrivals across the remainder of the month.

William Osula reacts as Rangers land Tochi Chukwuani
Osula’s future at Newcastle has looked bleak of late, with Eintracht Frankfurt showing an interest in signing him at the end of November.
It remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga side will progress that interest now that January has arrived, but Howe and Co. could be tempted to sell if an offer does come in.
The striker has managed just 213 minutes in the Premier League so far this term, and has a solitary goal to his name during those minutes.
With that in mind, a move could potentially be on the horizon for him in January, and one of his Denmark U21 teammates has already made his January move.
Tochi Chukwuani has swapped Sturm Graz for Rangers, with the deal confirmed on Sunday afternoon, and the midfielder quickly took to Instagram to share his delight.
The 22-year-old captioned his post: “Ready to give my all for this fantastic club, let’s get it going.”
Osula offered his congratulations to Chukwuani, as he replied to the post with: “Chaii see joy for my body”, followed by a series of celebratory emojis.
Who else could leave Newcastle alongside Osula this winter?
Former Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that Leeds are interested in signing Joe Willock this month, with several other Premier League teams also eyeing a deal.
The Englishman is another star who has fallen down Howe’s pecking order of late, having started just two league games since the start of the season.
It would be no surprise to see Willock potentially follow Osula out of the door before the end of the month, while there has also been speculation surrounding the long-term future of Sandro Tonali.
Kieran Trippier also appears to be heading towards a likely exit, with his contract due to expire in the summer and little sign of a renewal taking place at the moment.
