Newcastle tipped to complete 'great move' for Solanke after source update - pundit
Newcastle could seal a “great move” for Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke this month, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old is doing “brilliantly” with the Cherries at present.
According to the Telegraph (6 January), Solanke is “under consideration” by the Magpies as they look to replicate the output of injured talisman Callum Wilson.
Campbell suggested Newcastle boss Eddie Howe could be keen to reunite with a player he knows “really well” after their time together at Bournemouth.
“He’s become a better player because he’s starting regularly,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“He’s starting every match for Bournemouth at the moment, which means he can build a head of steam up and score a lot of goals.
“He was one of these Chelsea wonderkids coming through. He then went to Liverpool and it didn’t quite work out.
“He’s doing really brilliantly at Bournemouth right now and they’re flying in the Championship.
“Eddie Howe has worked with him before, and he obviously knows him really well. That could be a great move.
“One thing Solanke can do is finish.”
The striker has netted 33 goals and registered 13 assists since Bournemouth dropped down to the Championship at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Quoted by Sky Sports after Newcastle were embarrassed against Cambridge in the FA Cup on Saturday, Howe confirmed Wilson could be sidelined for “eight weeks”.
The Magpies sit 19th in the Premier League ahead of a relegation six-pointer against Watford tomorrow.
