Newcastle tipped to sign Tarkowski as pundit ‘knows for a fact’ there’s a ‘great offer tabled’
James Tarkowski wants to leave Burnley amid interest from Newcastle United, according to the defender’s ex-teammate Paul Robinson.
The former Claret and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, revealed Burnley have tabled the 28-year-old “a great deal” which he has not accepted.
Tarkowski‘s contract at Turf Moor expires at the end of next June.

According to The Telegraph (9th October), the centre-half is expected to be one of the first arrivals to St. James’ Park in January.
It is said that the two-times England international is keen on a move.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his insight on the situation, Robinson said: “I can see that happening.
“I know Tarky from my time at Burnley. Let me tell you, he is a top player.
“The fact that he has not signed a new contract at Burnley says a lot. He is taking a risk because if he got a bad injury in the last few months of his contract… It is clear that he does not want to stay.
“I know for a fact that the club have offered him a great deal. He’s not signing so clearly his head has been turned and he wants out.

“If Newcastle want him, what an opportunity that is for him.
“Tarky is a top centre-half. He would definitely do a job for them over the next 12 to 18 months.”
