Newcastle United fans have called for the club to cash in on Callum Wilson in January after a new transfer twist emerged.

Reports have claimed that Premier League outfits Fulham and Brentford are both keen on signing the striker in January, leading many to suggest that his time at St James' Park is up.

The 32-year-old has yet to feature for Eddie Howe's side this season as he continues his recovery from yet another injury blow.

Since the start of last season, he has missed a combined 34 games through injury, something which has proved a hindrance throughout his career.

When fit, the striker has scored 48 goals in 108 appearances for Newcastle and remains a strong option for Howe, but his injury record means he is rarely able to show his ability.

With interest growing amongst Premier League clubs and less than a year remaining on his contract, supporters are insisting the club should cash in and find a replacement should an official bid arrive.

The striker's lack of availability has caused plenty of issues for Newcastle during his time at the club, despite his form and ability when he is fit.

Alexander Isak has also been off the boil so far this season, but given Wilson's injury status, there has been a lack of a proper alternative.

Now, fans are insisting he might as well be sold, despite a lack of depth, as the club could still make money from his departure to be reinvested in the squad.
