Newcastle United about to rocket to ‘next level’ as ‘mega’ £300m deal on the cards – pundit

Newcastle United are about to go to “the next level” with the club looking to seal a £300million commercial deal.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (29 November) that Newcastle are preparing for their next big commercial move, with talks underway over a deal that could be worth as much as £300million over 10 years.

A source then updated to Football Insider on Thursday (1 December) that Newcastle are preparing to hold potentially decisive talks over a front-of-shirt deal with SAUDIA during the club’s trip to Saudi Arabia.

The airline, which is Saudi Arabia’s national carrier but is not state-owned, are sponsoring the tour which will see Eddie Howe’s side make use of a training camp in Riyadh before facing Al-Hilal in a friendly next Thursday (8 December).

Wenham insists this is exactly the kind of deal Newcastle should be looking to agree.

“If you want to compete with clubs like Tottenham and Liverpool then you need these kinds of deals for FFP reasons,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You need to show that you can generate the money you need to spend. Newcastle’s existing shirt sponsor doesn’t give them much and it sounds like they are getting out of it a year early.

“Chelsea have done that in the past. When the money is good enough then you are in a position to do that. For Newcastle, it is exactly the time to do this deal.

“Who knows? The naming rights to St James’ Park might be up for grabs as well.

These are the kinds of mega deals that can push a club to the next level.”
